National Federation of the Blind (NFB)
A national organization of the blind with which the National Federation of the Blind of Iowa (NFBI) is affiliated.
Blinded Veterans Association (BVA)
A patriotic organization of blind veterans that encourages fellowship, mutual support, and independence among its members.

An organization connecting parents, families and professionals across Iowa and beyond.

Iowa Department for the Blind (IDB)
Iowa state agency that provides vocational rehabilitation, independent living, library, and other services to eligible Iowans with vision loss.
American Foundation for the Blind (AFB)
Organization that provides accessibility, advocacy, educational, and other information about dealing with vision loss.

Offers free classes and resources on a variety of topics for blind individuals.

Information Sources in Alternative Formats
Iowa Department for the Blind Library for the Blind and Print Disabled
Provides books and other materials in alternative formats to Iowa residents who are unable to read standard print.
National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Library of Congress
Through national network of cooperating libraries, provides books and magazines in Braille and audio formats for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical disability that prevents them from reading or holding the printed page
Iowa Radio Reading Information Service (IRIS)
Free radio-reading service through which volunteers read print information aloud to over 11,000 print-disabled listeners throughout Iowa.
NFB-Newsline
A free audio news service for anyone who is blind, low-vision, deafblind, or otherwise print-disabled that offers free access to more than 500 newspapers and magazines.
