Hi Everyone,
I hope your week is going well. I wanted to touch base and give you an update on the Accessible Absentee Ballot Voting Bill. In an earlier communication I had let you know that the bill had passed through sub-committee, and was headed to the full committee for a vote. I encouraged you to all send out letters to the committee members asking them to vote yes. I’m happy to report the vote was unanimous in favor of moving the bill forward.
I’m so glad. We aren’t done yet. This was the second step in a six step process. It still has to go through the house and Senate, and then onto the Governor’s desk for her signature. I did ask Heather if there was anything we needed to do now, and she said right now, no, but she would keep me informed if we need to take any action. If I hear anything from her, I’ll be sure to pass it along.
I know we have been working on this for quite a while now, and I’m so glad it is moving in the right direction. I hope that with the election coming up, we can vote independently, however we choose to do so.
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions.
Thanks so much, and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Cheers!
Bettina
