Des Moines Meeting-Chili Cook-off

Dear ICUB Members and Friends!On Monday, October 10, 2022, the chapter will be hosting a chili cook-off, and everyone is welcome! Enter your favorite chili recipe, consider being a judge or just come for the food and fun. We will be giving away $50 for a first place prize and $25 for second place!This will be held during our regular meeting time; however, we will have a condensed agenda, and the focus will be on community. In addition to a great meal and company, we will have some tables for you to visit including:

- Computers for the Blind, at this table you can learn about this nonprofit that has been around for over 30 years, providing accessible computers at a discounted rate.- Election 2022, here you can learn about some important dates and check your registration status.- The Des Moines Chapter table is where you can find out about all the great things we are doing and pick up some ICUB swag. There will be a 50/50 raffle.We will be holding a special drawing for 2023 paid members.  Anyone who has paid their 2023 chapter membership dues, either online or in person by Monday, are eligible to win a Tile device.

Details of the event:Time 5:00 PM doors openDate: October 10, 2022Place: Assembly Room at the Iowa Department for the BlindMeal: Chilli with a non-meat option, corn bread, fall treats and drink.Cost: No cost***Please note: To attend in person you must enter on the north side of the IDB building, the Watson-Powell side. Doors will only be unlocked for a limited time, between 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  If you arrive early or late please call 866-436-0141.If you are unable to attend in person, you can participate via Zoom.
