Here Us Roar! Celebrating Disability Pride at Blank Park Zoo

Dear Members and Friends,

The Des Moines Chapter of the Iowa Council of the United Blind is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Hear Us Roar! Celebrating Disability Pride at Blank Park Zoo on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

This exciting event is a celebration, with a full day of experiences for everyone to enjoy.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including Creature Features, an ice cream social, lunch, giraffe, parakeet and alpaca feedings, train rides, face painting, and more!

As a sponsor of this year’s event, the Des Moines Chapter of the Iowa Council of the United Blind has a limited number of complimentary Big Roar Experience Passes available. These upgraded passes include lunch.

Registration is required through ICUB to receive these complimentary passes. Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and limited per household, so please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested.
