On May 19th, the Iowa Council of the United Blind (ICUB) was thrilled to be at the State Capitol to witness Governor Reynolds sign House File 2585 into law!
We are incredibly proud to say that 14 of our dedicated ICUB members traveled to the Capitol to show their support,highlighting just how committed ICUB is to advocating for the blind and low vision community.
It was an honor to collaborate with our friends and partners at the Iowa Developmental Disabilities (DD) Council and the National Federation of the Blind of Iowa. Moments like this take a village, and we are so grateful for the teamwork of all the advocates who pushed this forward.
A huge thank you to Representative Barker, Representative Young, and Senator Warme for taking the time to meet with our members. We appreciate your hard work and your continued support of our community!
