Des Moines Chapter Chili Cook off

Hello, all!

I know.  It seems like we just had a meeting.  But November will be here before we know it, and because of the special things we want to accomplish at this meeting, I’m sending out an email now when you have barely had a chance to recover from the last meeting we just had.  😊 

Our scholarship committee, consisting of Donna, Carrie, Lori, Jess, and yours truly, is going to meet next week to begin thinking about how best to allocate funds for the upcoming legislative and leadership conference in March of 2024.  To the end of promoting the scholarship fund, we are having a chili cookoff at our November meeting.  You will judge which chili you think is best by putting your money into a designated bucket for the chili you think should win the contest.  The funds we receive will go toward the scholarship funds.  We still have some details of the cookoff to work out, but first and foremost, we need to have about five chilis for which people can vote with their cash.  If you are interested in participating by making a chili, please let me know asap. 

In addition to the cookoff, we will have a speaker coming to talk to us about the game darts.  We will have an opportunity to play some darts after our meeting if we wish.  So, in addition to the board nominations for 2024, we look forward to our chili cookoff as well as to some fun with the dart board.  More to come.  Take care.
